Supermoon Sunset Nature Walk in Ojai |
|
|
Join me on Wednesday evening, March 20, for an unforgettable experience: a nature walk during the rare convergence of the full supermoon rising and the sun setting on the evening of the Vernal Equinox, all overlooking the beautiful Ojai Valley (Valley of the Moon).
We’ll meet at the Park-and-Ride lot downtown at 5 p.m. to carpool to the trailhead. From there we’ll gradually walk up to a vista point, stopping along the way to meet some valuable native plants.
Afterwards, you'll have a chance to see and taste how
Ojai Valley Brewery brewmaster Jeremy Haffner has created some truly delicious lager-style craft beers and ales using some of the same local plants we’ll meet on the trail.

OjaiHerbal.orgis my new hub |
|
|
Did you notice that this newsletter is titled OjaiHerbal Newsletter instead of Herb Walks Newsletter? Okay, maybe you didn't, but here's the point. Now that
HerbWalks.com
has a new photogenic look, I've launched a new site at
OjaiHerbal.org to be a hub for the Ojai Herbal Symposium and MediCannaCon (the Ojai Medical Cannabis Conference). There's also a link to HerbWalks.com.
Right now, OjaiHerbal.org has the complete schedule, speaker bios, ticketing and other info for
MediCannaCon on May 4. Please check out my new website and bookmark it to stay updated on these major educational events.
Major props to
Laura Gruenther, web and graphic designer, for her expert and artistic help.

Spring Medicinal Plant Workshop |
|
|
Please join me and special guests Professor James Adams of USC School of Pharmacy and plant educator Enrique Villaseñor for a Spring Medicinal Plant Workshop on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dr. Adams has been a frequent and popular contributor to my events for the past seven years. This workshop is based on his ground-breaking pharmacology studies on local native plants.
Here's a link to my blog post about his latest research on the pain-relieving properties of Black Sage, one of the plants we will work with hands-on at the April 6 workshop.
All his workshops here have filled up so don't delay. Read more and register at
