"Due to overwhelming public opposition, Forest Service officials now say a decision on the controversial Pine Mountain project won't happen until February at the earliest. In the meantime, we're continuing to collect data from the project area. We've also obtained copies of important letters submitted to the Forest Service by other entities such as the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, which highlighted the potential negative impact to wildlife, spread of invasive species, and other effects.
