Hungry for Music Notes

End of Summer Newsletter

The summer was too short, but Hungry for Music packed a lot in!

As you will see, we have been quite busy and there are no signs of slowing down.  Our outreach continues to grow and I am excited to help more kids experience the joys of music.

Hungry for Music is currently in the midst of our instrument request period for Title One music teachers. The popularity of this program continues to increase and we do our best to meet the demand.

I’m inspired and motivated to finish the year strong and top our instrument distribution totals from last year.

May you always find comfort in music.

New Informational Video

Thank you to Jason Siemer Productions for producing the latest Hungry for Music informational video.  He had also produced the previous two (2006, 2017) that you can find on YouTube.  It is always a pleasure to work with Jason and his professional and friendly approach.

Creating More Space

Hungry for Music is lucky to have a talented carpenter as a neighbor! Tom has built a multitude of shelves for the over 5,000 musical instruments Hungry for Music has in its inventory.  He recently added much needed shelves in our guitar and string rooms.

Community Support

As a part of their Gallons for Good Campaign this summer, Luzianne Tea donated $10,000 to Hungry for Music, which turned into over 75 musical instruments being distributed to music programs in Atlanta and New Orleans.
Paul Reed Smith
PRS donated an electric guitar that went to the Young Musicians Foundation in Los Angeles.
James Tyler Guitars
We sure appreciate Dylan at Spider Web Music UK for introducing us to James Tyler Guitars, who donated a beautiful guitar for Hungry for Music to raffle.

A big thank you to Rich Renken, General Manager at James Tyler Guitars, for sending the awesome guitar in the photo. We will make an announcement when we start the raffle.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
We appreciate the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for involving Hungry for Music in their annual Fam Jam event.  It’s always a blast!

“I've attached a photo of some of our students playing the instruments you donated. I thought you would enjoy seeing the impact your generosity is having firsthand. Every time I see these kids playing together, I'm reminded of how important organizations like Hungry for Music are to music education.

“Thank you to everyone at Hungry for Music for believing in what we're building here. You helped us get this program started, and we're excited about where we're going next.  With sincere gratitude.”

“I have been fully immersed in coordinating the shipment and launch of the wonderful string instruments you recently donated.

Thanks be to God, the shipment arrived safely at Bukalasa Seminary in Uganda, and the joy among our students has been extraordinary. Thank you for helping make this possible.”
