Hungry for Music Notes
Winter Into Spring 2020

2020 Vision

In 2019, the 25th year of Hungry for Music’s musical instrument outreach, we distributed over 1,200 music instruments, giving us a grand total of over 14,000 donated in our history.

In 2020, our distribution goal is 2,020 music instruments and establishing at least ten Hungry for Music chapters.

We are excited about the continued growth of our outreach and look forward to another year of spreading the gift of music to individuals and communities in need.

Thank you for spreading the word and your continued support.

A Southern Music Trail

New HFM Team Member

Last newsletter we recognized a volunteer who has been supporting us for over 15 years, Alan Friedman.

This time we want to welcome our newest team member, Dawn Nelson.  Dawn is based in Ann Arbor and is Hungry for Music’s new Operations Manager.  We are lucky to have her on the team.  Welcome aboard, Dawn!!  We are grateful to Miko Fossum at Conscious Café for the referral.

The NAMM Experience

A visit to the massive NAMM Conference in Anaheim was long overdue for Hungry for Music.

It was an opportunity for us to connect with old friends and make new ones.  These connections and partnerships are imperative so more kids can experience the joy of music in their lives.

Music makes the world go round!  HFM made many essential music connections at NAMM that will help us continue to expand our mission of providing quality music instruments to children in need of assistance.
Please help us continue to expand our mission.

Testimonials

“Last year, Hungry for Music donated seven violins to jump start our new program; we now have enough for the entire 2nd grade!  This year, we received three trumpets, two clarinets, and two alto saxophones to support our growing wind instruction program. They will be loaned each year to students whose families experience difficulty renting or buying an instrument themselves.“
~High Meadow School, Stone Ridge, NY

“Thank you for your time and efforts. I greatly appreciate your support. Our students have significantly benefited through the gift of music and instruments because of Hungry for Music!”
~
Collette Hebert, music teacher

 Yonkers Public Schools

“Thank you for your support.  The timing is perfect as we are planning on shipping the container to Uganda  on Monday, February 10.  I will be traveling to Uganda in early April and I will have the opportunity to see the band and meet with the students.  Thank you again. I don’t think we would have been able to have the music program as it exists today  without your support. Truly appreciated.”

~Louis Buonomo, Building a Bridge to Uganda
