Dear IKNS Parents,
We want to take this opportunity to extend our thanks and appreciation to you for attending the second parent-teacher meeting held this year. Our valued IKNS administrators and teachers were pleased to meet with you.
As semester 1 comes to an end, we would like to share and highlight a few points that have been implemented during the first semester, and the strategy put forward for the second semester.
First semester September 2018 until January 2019:
- All faculty members received a training certificate (Category 3) from the International Baccalaureate Organization, with many teachers undergoing training in their subject areas.
- All students have been allocated electronic platforms to support their learning at school and at home, such as (Mathletics, Iqra, Alef Ba Ta).
- Weekly newsletters have been created to facilitate parents' follow-up to their children's learning.
- The elementary school library has been equipped with new books and resources that enrich the students' learning.
- An additional Math class has been added to Grades 3-5 schedules to enhance basic mathematics skills.
- Communication channels between the school and parents have also been enhanced through the use of Class Dojo and Schoology.

The area will be located next to the grass field for elementary students, and in the KG playground for KG students. No registration is required, participation is open to students and their parents.
- Continue to develop assessment methods in line with the school's philosophy and the PYP.
- Continue to develop homework in line with the requirements of the Unit of Inquiry.
- Promote and expand community service activities for students in line with Units of Inquiry.
- Initial review of the PYP by representatives from the International Baccalaureate Organization.
A third conference will be held in February; which will be led by the student explaining what he/she has learnt thus far.
IKNS prides itself on having a positive and constructive relationship between all its stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, parents, and board members. This serves as the driving force behind the school's continued success.
With your continued support, we are confident that the next semester will bring more progress and excellence to IKNS.
