Dear Graduates,

Congratulations on your graduation.  I would like to share my deepest thanks to your parents and faculty for guiding you to this point, which is only the beginning of your advancement in life.

Today, I would like to leave you with three challenges to ponder and act on during your college careers.

First, this place needs you.  So, seek knowledge wherever it may be, but return.  I encourage you to create a new support system, experience a new way of life, and develop vision of what you wish to become.  However, do not forget the starting point. This country needs your talent and drive.

Second, apply yourself and aspire to become global pioneers and leaders. I ask this because you can and will become those Bahraini leaders.  Together, we can retain our young, competitive talent.

Third and lastly, make (good) mistakes.  Always discovered in hindsight, these mistakes will guide you to follow your passions.  I hope to help you seize or create local opportunities that embody career endeavors in which you wish to excel.  This will be made possible.

I will do my best to create an environment, where you and your ideas can thrive.  This country will always be your place.

Congratulations, once again, and best of luck to all.

Respectfully yours,

Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa
