Skills for Care individual employer funding

 

Skills for Care's individual employer Funding for 2024/25 is now available. This funding initiative supports individual employers and their personal assistants (PAs) by offering financial assistance for training and development.

 

Eligible employers can apply for funding to cover the costs of up to five training courses, including hiring replacement support while you or your PAs are in training.

 

Key Benefits:

  • Enhance your skills and those of your PAs
  • Cover costs for various training courses
  • Obtain financial support for hiring replacement care during training sessions.

Important Dates:

 

Application Deadline: 12noon, Friday, 14 March 2025
Training Start Date: All courses must begin by 31 March 2025

Whether you are getting started with Direct Payments, are interested in becoming a personal assistant, or are looking to meet new people and learn new skills, Independent Lives runs a range of online events, which you can view and book at the link below. 

 

Our Direct Payment employer events provide essential insights into effectively managing personal assistants, navigating legal responsibilities, and enhancing the lives of those you support. The events are all free to attend.

Disabled facilities grants

 

Disabled facilities grants are provided by local councils for a range of home adaptations that help disabled people to live more independently in their own homes.

 

The grants mainly help to make sure that disabled people can move more freely and safely around their home and use essential facilities.

 

Grants are provided for a range of home adaptations which can include:

• Building ramps and widening doors
• Installing stairlifts
• Adapting kitchens for wheelchair users
• Converting bathrooms into shower rooms
• Adapting toilet facilities.
