As part of our work with the NHS to tackle digital exclusion amongst disabled people - and following on from the digital health section on our advice hub -  we have put together a short e-learning course: Tackling digital exclusion.

The course is aimed at anyone working in health and social care and will enable them to understand digital exclusion, spot the signs of a digitally vulnerable person and know what they can do to help them.

The free course takes around thirty minutes to complete, which you can access through PA Pages at the button below.

Friends of Independent Lives update

Friends of Independent Lives is our free membership programme which aims to allow as many people as possible to help shape the services we provide.

Independent Lives' engagement work is ramping up for 2023 and the Friends of Independent Lives look set to have lots of opportunities to meet new people and share their stories and feedback.

We've submitted a grant application to Adur and Worthing Trust to fund creative writing workshops to celebrate Disability Pride Month in July, involving local shops and venues.

There's never been a better time to become a Friend of Independent Lives. You can join up to our free membership programme at the link below.

West Sussex County Council day services survey

West Sussex County Council (WSCC) wants to find out your ideas about what day support could be like in the future. They’ve developed a short survey for you to have your say on this.

In 2021 WSCC asked people what was important to them to live the life they wanted to lead. This helped them to develop the priorities for their adult social care services until 2025.

The survey explains these priorities and asks you and your family or friend carers, how you think day support, supported employment, paid work and volunteering should look in the future.
