We are proud to announce that JSMW is organizing a Spring Camp 2018 for our own Pathshala children this year, after hosting a similar successful camp last year.  This camp will be held between Friday, April 20th and Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 at Pecometh Camp & Retreat Center, a venue located along the banks of the Chester River on MD’s eastern shore conveniently located within 75 miles with around 1 hour 45 minutes’ drive from our Jain Center.

This camp is on a first-come first-served basis with limited spots for Pathshala children (like last year), as well as for Pathshala parents (for the first time), and includes two nights of overnight accommodation, food (dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday) with all religious sessions and fun-filled activities at a deeply discounted pricing of $115 per camper.

In order to be eligible, each child must be able to sleep on their own (in absence of their parents), and must be born on or after 2008 (typically this means Pathshala class B2 and upwards, however, class B1 children can be admitted to the camp on a case-by-case basis).  All middle/high school children as well as our Pathshala alumni students are more than welcome to join this camp!  To keep costs manageable, adult campers shall be registered on a provisional basis, and shall be confirmed as soon as we receive registrations from 40 adults.

We are planning to reserve two lodges so we can have separate overnight accomodation for boys and girls and similarly, for adults, if they are confirmed.  Lodges have bunk beds in each room.  Male chaperones will be accommodated in the boys' lodge and similarly female chaperons will be accommodated in the girls' lodge.

Critical Requirement: No technology products and cellular devices, including but not limited to cell phones, iPads, iPhones, smart watches, any form of tablet(s) or phone(s), shall be allowed in this Camp.  If Campers cannot follow these guidelines, we recommend that you please do not register for this camp.  No exceptions please.

The Planning Committee has already started working with the Food Director at the camp venue to ensure that the Mexican and Italian cuisine based food served during the camp meets the restrictions that come with Vegetarian and Jain food.

Registrations shall commence during the upcoming Pathshala meeting on Sunday, March 4th.  If you are interested, please stop by at the registration booth at Pathshala venue along with a completed form (see attached) and a check to guarantee a slot.
