Dev Shashtra Guru Pooja is scheduled on Sunday, August 22nd starting at 9:00 AM. Shanti Vidhaan will be performed from the Jain Center in a limited capacity and will be live-streamed for JSMW members to attend virtually. Shraddha Sudhir Patni and Pooja Amit Soni families are the sponsors for the Vidhaan.

Zoom Meeting
You may have completed the Jain ritual of Guruvandan at your temple or home, or at an Upashray. Wondering what Guruvandan is? Looking for a guide on how to do Guruvandan on your own? Want to understand the significance behind the actions?
During Guruvandan, one bows down to Maharaj Sahebs, Jain ascetics that dedicate their lives to learning about Jainism and guiding others in their paths of spiritual progress. This ritual allows one to express respect for these figures and their wisdom.
Join us on Sunday, August 22nd, from 10:30 - 11:30 AM ET, for a live Guruvandan workshop. Together, attendees will learn about the importance of this ritual and complete it in a group setting! Be sure to dress in fresh clothes and drink water before joining. Open to attendees of all ages and experience.

JSMW JAB Journey - Video Tribute
JSMW JAB team students made us proud by participating and winning the 1st place trophy in junior category at 2021 JAINA Convention.
To celebrate their hard work and victory, a 8 minute video is compiled that will take few down the memory lane and leave many nostalgic. Please do watch and enjoy!

Paryushan Jain Meals for UMD students: Sign-Up & Sponsorship
This year like in the past, we are going to provide Jain food for our kids in UMD during paryushan. Paryushan starts from 3rd September, so food will be arranged from Sep 3 through Sep 10.
If your kids are in UMD this year and would like to get jain food, please reach Nishma Shah at 240-888-5079 or Vishal Mehta at 732-277-9901 with their name and phone # by August 20th. Students will be added to WhatsApp group to communicate logistics.
If interested in sponsoring these jain meals for students, please reach out to Vishal Mehta, on WhatsApp or email at vicepresident@jainsocietydc.org. Sponsorship amount is $101. Please be generous.
Also would appreciate, if members can volunteer for atleast 1 day to deliver food to UMD.
