Jain Youth Exchange Program (JYEP)

JAINA in collaboration with JITO Ahmedabad & Bhartiya Jain Sangathana (BJS) is proud to present the Jain Youth Exchange Program [JYEP]. This is the third year of this unique program that offers exposure to different cultures ranks as one of the most powerful ways to promote international understanding and Jain way of life. The program intends to provide hundreds of young students with the opportunity to meet people from other countries and to experience new cultures, planting the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding. This program will bring 12 Jain Youths (ages 18 - 25) from India to the U.S., for approximately 12 days, starting from Boston, MA (5 days), New York City, NY (7 days), Washington, DC (7 days), and ending with Los Angeles/San Francisco Bay Area (7 days). These youth will attend the upcoming JAINA Convention on this Saturday-Sunday (weekend) only.

These youth are scheduled to be in Washington, D.C. from Wednesday, July 5th evening till Tuesday, July 11th morning. We are also looking for volunteers that can coordinate activities such as visits to National Harbor, National monuments, Museums, Interfaith Dialog & meetings, US Capitol tour, Jain Center, etc...and any other activities that will make this a well-rounded visit for the Jain Youths. Please contact Janak Rajani (410-415-3033, SendYourReply@Gmail.com) or Keyuri Rajani (443-744-1045, KeyuriRajani@Gmail.com), if you are interested in taking them around these Jain Youths.

Please see attachment for bios of these fine 6 women and 6 men youth leaders and their schedule while they are in DC area.

Background about JYEP:
Through JYEP, students learn firsthand about all aspects of life in another country. As their concept of the world expands, they mature and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Immersion in another country’s value system enhances their academic and personal growth.

The Jain students go through a rigorous testing and selection process before they are selected to be a JYEP candidate. Applicants must be a Jain, enrolled as students, pass tests and personal interviews before being selected for this program.

JITO/BJS Sponsors/Students from India will pay for their entire international trip & all travel within the U.S., health insurance, pocket money to pay for incidental expenses including if they were to pay for food outside, or to purchase souvenirs, etc.
