Jai Jinendra,

Today is the third day of Parvadhiraj Paryushan Mahaparva and Pakkhi Chaudas. Anumodana to all tapasvis and to all those who are doing veyavaccha. Hoping all of you are in great saata!

Just like,
  • Of all mantras, Navkar mantra is the most supreme;
  • Of all Tirth places, Shatrunjaya / Palitana is the most pious;
  • Of all Daan, the best Charity (Daan) is Abhay Daan (the promise of no harm);
  • Of all Parvas, Paryushan is the supreme Parva (festival), because it is the festival to cleanse our soul, it is the festival of renunciation and righteousness. It is a festival where you get by giving. It operates as a catalyst to burn karma.

During the first 3 days Paryushan, Pujya Sadhu Bhagwants give discourses referred to as Ashtanhika Pravachan. It mentions the five religious duties / Kartavyas of Shravaks and Shravikas to be performed during Paryushan.

These 5 kartavyas are -

1) Amari Pravartan which means practicing non-violence in all aspects of life by words, thoughts and actions

2) Sadharmik Vatsalya which means serving members of the Jain Community

3) Kshamapna which means giving Forgiveness

4) Attham Tapasya which means Fasting for 3 days

5) Chaitya Paripati which means visiting temples with sangh and paying homage

It is our privilege to have scholar Shri Kamleshbhai Jota explaining these  Kartavyas. Please take as much laabh as possible by listening to him. If you have missed any of the earlier ones, you can listen to recorded sessions on JSMW Youtube live channel.

Do not miss this opportunity!
