2017-2018 Pathshala Structure & Address

We will be following a similar structure to last year. Please be mindful of time and enter the gym promptly at 10:15 for morning prayers.

• 9:15 – 10:15 Language Classes
• 10:15 – 10:30 Morning Prayers in the gym
• 10:30 – 12:15 Pathshala Class
• 11:50 – 12:15 Sutra Class (optional)
• 12:15 Lunch

All language and youth Pathshala classes will be held at Cloverly Elementary located just opposite of our Jain Center. The address is 800 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring MD 20905. New Classroom assignments
As mentioned during our first class, we had to make some updates to the classroom assignments. Below is an updated list. Be sure to come to class prepared. Students should have a notebook and writing utensil and their book they received during last class.

Paryushan & Das Lakshana Matrix

We will accept student Paryushan and Das Lakshana matrix for next class. Students will receive a prize if they complete their matrix.

Upcoming Pathshala Events

Every year we have new volunteers who launch initiatives for our Pathshala community. Thank you to our volunteers for initiating the below activities.

• Public Speaking Class: Are you shy about public speaking? Or, do you wish you had a few tips to make public speaking easier? Pulkit Gangwal will be conducting Public Speaking classes for adults and youth. There will be six classes total, always the second Pathshala of the month. Therefore, the first class will be Sept 17^th. Adult classes will be 10:30 – 11:30 and youth classes will be 12:45 to 1:45. If you are interested, please email Pulkit Gangwal (pulkit1010@gmail.com) . There is a $20 donation fee for this class.

• Book Recycling: We will be starting a book recycling project. On Sept 17^th, please bring in your old Pathshala books that you are not using and those books will be recycled for another student. Please be sure the books are in good condition without any writing inside them. For more information, contact Sara Jain ( jainsara@gmail.com) and/or Jignesh Shah ( jsquareshah@gmail.com ).

• Sport Equpiment, Shoes, and Cleats Exchange: On Sept 17th, please bring your lightly used sports gear and exchange for something else you'd like for your grown children (or just feel good that at least a young child will enjoy those cleats or bats). If you don't bring anything, you may still pick up what you like -we will have a Jiv Daya donation box for any donations you'd like to make in exchange. • Pathshala T-Shirts: Back by popular demand! All registered students will receive one free JSMW Pathshala t-shirt given they have completed their registration and Pathshala annual donation. After receiving one free T-shirt, students will have an option of purchasing additional T-shirts for a donation of $10 each. Please note, students who received one free T-shirt last year can have a second T-shirt for the $10 donation fee, they will not be receiving a second free T-shirt. Each Pathshala student must be registered and pay their donation fee. If you have not yet registered, please complete the form in the link below. For payment, you can bring a check on the first day of class or you can pay via paypal online at JSMW.org. To pay via paypal, go to Donate and make sure you write "2017-2018 Pathshala Registration" in the memo or subject line. We will have a regisgtration and donation table set up in the Cafeteria from 10:30 - 12:00.
