The next edition of the newsletter is set to be released in June, but in the meantime please read on for the latest information.

 2026 Japan Tourism Awards Australia

JNTO Sydney is proud to announce the inaugural Japan Tourism Awards Australia, recognising excellence within the Australian travel industry. The awards will highlight outstanding performance in seven categories:

Leisure Awards
General Leisure, Educational Travel, Luxury Travel, Adventure Travel, Regional Travel
Ski & Snow Awards
Ski & Snow Travel (All Japan), Ski & Snow Travel (Regional)

These awards acknowledge the contribution of Australia’s travel trade, whose efforts supported last year’s record visitor numbers to Japan.

Award recipients will be recognised at our media event later this year and will receive a plaque and a traditional Japanese item.

Entries for the leisure award categories will be based on the 2025 traveller numbers survey. A separate Ski & Snow survey will be distributed in mid-May.

These insights play an important role in informing future Japanese Government tourism budgets and guiding JNTO's support and activities in the Australian market.

Thank you to everyone who participates in this important annual research and supports this new initiative.
