Imagine witnessing massive 12-metre-long taiko drum floats with rhythmic drumbeats, whistles, and a whole local community coming together to celebrate the fun and organised chaos. Held 16-18 October this year, the Niihama Taiko Festival is said to have originated over 1,000 years ago. Combine with other nearby Ehime Prefecture highlights like Matsuyama City and Imabari and surrounds for a great hidden Japan getaway!
