The Corbett Foundation is attending The IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) at Hawaii from September 4th to the 10th 2016, alongside a host of nationally and internationally renowned conservation organizations. During this congress, TCF along with Wildlife Institute of India and IUCN India Country Office as session partners, organized a Knowledge Café Session titled, "An Action Plan to Protect the Bustard Species of India", discussing the need of and strategies to protect the three resident bustard species in India - Great Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican and Bengal Florican – as regards their conservation in India and in neighbouring countries where these species occur. The highlight of this session was the release of TCF's the coffee-table book titled 'Great Indian Bustard - A Pictorial Life History' authored by Dr. Asad Rahmani and co-authored by Devesh Gadhavi and Kedar Gore. TCF also presented a poster on its Sustainable Livelihood Programme titled "Community empowerment and conservation through sustainable livelihoods: A success story from India".

The Tribes Foundation have appointed six select individuals from three ranges in Kanha Tiger Reserve as Village Wildlife guardians (VWG). After a week-long training programme teaching them about the importance of conserving forests with a special focus on tiger conservation, various legal wildlife and forest-related offences, the different kinds of wildlife traps and other such man-made interferences, these individuals will be a crucial aid to the Forest Department in keeping a watch on anthropogenic actviity in the vicinity of the tiger reserve. Additonally, they are to monitor six different local weekly markets, aid villagers in case of livestock depredation and create awareness about wildlife conservation.

The TCF team chanced upon a bullock in a village in Kaziranga with a severe maggot infestation of its nasal septa, the soft tissue being eaten away at. The infection was due to a wound caused by the nylon rope used to permanently restrain the animal. Such injuries are commonly observed especially among camels in western India, where a nose-peg injury has led to maggot-infested wounds. The primary step in treating this animal was to cut the nylon rope, after which the farmer was made aware of how this sort of negligence adversely affects his livestock. Ignorance and lack of veterinary facilities in rural areas leaves livestock here susceptible to various, painful afflictions and diseases, and TCF’s veterinary team works towards improving this situation.

TCF conducted a health awareness camp at a village called Aamdanda Khatta in near Corbett Tiger Reserve, focusing on the prevention and treatment of anaemia, for iron-deficient women residents of the village. TCF also distributed iron syrup cartons to the attending women. 

TCF Bandhavgarh organized an awareness programme about snakes for the students of Government Middle School, Mala. TCF reguarly conducts awareness programmes at the rural school and community level about the ecological importance of snakes, prevention and treatment in case of snake-bite and also to dispel common myths about these important reptiles
