The Corbett Foundation heartily welcomes Dr. A.J.T. Johnsingh and Dr. Asad Rahmani - eminent wildlife scientists and conservationists of international repute – on board as Scientific Advisors to TCF from January 2016 onwards!! Dr. Johnsingh is the former Dean of the Wildlife Institute of India and Dr. Rahmani is former Director of Bombay Natural History Society. We are honoured to have them join the TCF family.

| VULTURE CENSUS & TRAINING WITH TCF KANHA & BANDHAVGARH |
TCF Kanha and Bandhavgarh participated in a state level vulture census at their respective Tiger Reserves (KTR and BTR). For this, TCF Bandhavgarh held a one-day training session for the field staff and forest personnel of BTR and Shahdol Circle while the training of personnel at KTR utilized photo-guides and presentations designed by TCF Kanha. Through classroom and practical field sessions, they were taught about data-collection methodology, identifying vulture species and about nesting habits and roosting sites. The training was attended by 40 forest personnel along with Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Chief Conservator of Forest of Shahdol Division and DFO of North Shahdol Division.

| VULTURE POSTER PRESENTATION TO THE DISTRICT COLLECTOR, SIVASAGAR |
TCF, now a SAVE associate, met with District Collector of Sivasagar (Assam) Mr. Vijendra Mittal (IAS) and presented him with a framed copy of TCF's vulture poster in Assamese, much to his appreciation. The recent ban on multi-dose presentations of human-use diclofenac was discussed, with the DC confirming that all steps were being taken to implement the ban effectively.

| TCF IN THE FIGHT AGAINST INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN TIGER DERIVATIVES |
TCF has signed a joint letter, along with other international and national NGOs, for a zero demand approach to trade in tiger parts and derivatives - this implies putting an end to the infamous tiger "Farms" as well. Follow the link for more details

| SOLAR LIGHTING FOR VILLAGES NEAR KAZIRANGA |
|
On Republic Day, TCF distributed solar-powered bulbs and lanterns to 24 households on the fringe of Kaziranga National Park around Laudubi, Dumjan and Gushanibur villages. Lack of electricity here hampers household chores and children’s studies after dusk. The six TCF-Diksha scholars were given solar-powered table lamps so they can study after dusk, while TCF looks after their tuition and admission fees. TCF also implements programmes to minimize human-elephant conflict striving for the continued support and tolerance of these communities towards the wildlife they share their habitat with.

| SOLAR LIGHTING FOR FOREST FIELD STAFF |
TCF-Bandhavgarh donated solar lights to forest field staff of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. These lights will provide much-needed support and aid to the field staff while they are on patrol duty as well as lighting for Patrolling camps after dusk. Better working conditions go a long way in improving wildlife conservation in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

| KERC AND YOUTH ON A NATURE TRAIL |
|
KERC organized a nature trail, replete with birding sessions and introduction to mangroves and marine fauna through the Jakhau Salt Pans with the youth of Kendriya Vidyalaya Air Force Station (Naliya). Such trails expose the youth to the crucial biodiversity of their environs, creating a sense of pride and connection to their natural environment.
