A TOUR OF PROVERBS/MISHLEI WITH NEIEL

Proverbs 27

Do not boast of tomorrow,
For you do not know what the day will bring.
Let the mouth of another praise you,
The words from another are sweeter than your own.
The sweetness of a friend is better than one’s own counsel.
Do not desert your friend nor those of your father.
The shrewd man saw trouble and took cover;
The simple kept going and paid the penalty.
He who tends a fig tree will enjoy its fruit,
And he who cares for his teacher will be honored.
Mind well the looks of your flock;
Pay attention to your herds;
For property does not last forever,
Or a crown for all generations.
Grass vanishes, and new grass appears,
And the sustenance from the hills is gathered in.
