BULLETIN: A new section in the Weekly News

We are introducing a new regular section for the Kohelet Weekly News called BULLETIN. This will reinforce our already great sense of community and help us interact in a quick and functional way. You can submit your entries directly to admin@kohelet.org. Please keep your post to 3 sentences or less and list your preferred way of contact.
Appropriate posts will be:

  • requests for assistance (eg., I am having knee surgery on July 6 and would appreciate a few meals later that week and then transportation 3x to dr. appts.)
  • requests to borrow items (eg., I am looking to borrow a high chair for 2 weeks in June)
  • offers (eg., I have 2 dining room chairs to give away. Yours for picking up.)
  • recommendations (eg., We’re looking for recommendations for a babysitter that you have trusted and employed)
  • collaborations (eg., I see that the children’s room at Koh. house could use some uplifting. Want to join me one day in Sept. to paint and organize?)

A TOUR OF PROVERBS/MISHLEI WITH NEIEL

Proverbs 21

All the ways of a man seem right to him,
But the Lord probes the mind.
To do what is right and just
Is more desired than sacrifice.
The way of a man may be tortuous and strange,
Though his actions are blameless and proper.
He who stops his ears at the cry of the wretched,
He too will call and not be answered.
He who strives to do good and kind deeds
Attains life , success and honor.
He who guards his mouth and tongue
Guards himself from trouble.
The horse is readied for the day of battle,
But victory is the provence of the Lord.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Kohelet members: Sign-ups for Shabbat lunch set-up and clean-up are seriously lacking for July, August and September. We need your help, especially if you have been remiss in signing up for Shabbat assignments. Without your help, the chores fall unfairly on a dedicated few. Please do your share to make our community vibrant and participatory. Click below, and do the right thing by putting you name down for one or more Shabbats.
Thank you!

(You don't need an access code but you will need your email & self-created password. Contact admin@kohelet.org if you run into trouble.)

WHO SIGNED UP FOR SETUP/CLEANUP THIS WEEK?
