ANNOUNCEMENTS

TORAH EXPLORER

An Exciting New Kohelet Activity

On the first Shabbat of each month, after our usual Torah reading, instead of a d’var Torah, we will take turns reading the parsha in English, stopping frequently to discuss, dispute, and generally engage with the text. Please join us and come prepared to inquire and learn.

KOHELET COMMUNITY SEDER
Fri., April 19 at 6:00 p.m.

You are cordially invited to be part of Kohelet's annual Passover seder on the first night, Friday, April 19, at Kohelet house. We will gather at Kohelet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19.

Each of us will be contributing to the seder in many ways – prayer, storytelling, participation, tzedakah, ritual food, and the traditional feast – though ours will be without meat).

We all contribute one or two vegetarian dishes to serve 10-12 and a bottle of wine or juice, plus a suggested donation of $10 per adult.

Kohelet's seder was begun in memory of our dear friend and Kohelet member Deborah Buckley, whose loving nature and lively spirit was the perfect compliment to this complex and joyful holiday. Deborah passed away in 2004, and Kohelet has hosted a seder 14 of the last 15 years. We aim for a "family-friendly" seder, with fun, song, and maybe a few creepy-crawlies or wild beasts.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you'd like to join us. Respond to the seder committee at:  beiserbj@gmail.com by Monday, April 8.

HAVDALAH FUN NIGHT

Watch for more, from your fun-loving hosts Susan Berson and Robyn.
A NOTE FROM MAYLA BOGUSLAV

Thank you so much for helping me out during the first week after my surgery.  This surgery hit me hard the first couple days, so having meals ready to go made such a difference!  My sister, mom and I really appreciated and enjoy every meal and all visits!  I am so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community and I hope I can pay it forward in the future.  All of you have helped me heal tremenously!  I hope you all are well!

Thank you again!!
Mayla, Arielle (sister), and Linda (mom)
