Vehicle Service Road (VSR)
Signage & Marking Update
Updated Signs & Markings on VSR C at Taxiway C8
Due to the high rate of aircraft cut-offs at Vehicle Service Road (VSR) C & Taxiway C8 as well as the Taxiway C crossing near Gate 59, the intersection markings and signs in these locations have been changed in an attempt to help reduce aircraft cutoffs.
When driving on Vehicle Service Road C at C8, you are now required to come to a complete stop before crossing the taxiway.
When traveling northbound from VSR C to Terminal 5 (near Gate 59), you must come to a complete stop before crossing Taxiway C. Use caution for aircraft pushing back from G59 and for aircraft on Taxiway C.

When traveling southbound from Terminal 5 towards VSR C, you should first ensure that you will be able to completely cross the taxiway and will not impede the movement of any aircraft. When you approach VSR C, you are no longer required to come to a complete stop. Instead you should yield to any conflicting traffic and then enter VSR C when safe to do so.
Safe Driving Reminder
Maintaining situational awareness while driving on the airfield is extremely important. Always drive at a speed appropriate for the conditions. This speed may be significantly slower than the speed limit during periods of reduced visibility or heavy congestion. Do not use electronic devices or perform other tasks (eating, writing, etc) while driving. Be vigilant for cues of impending aircraft movement such as wing walkers, anti-collision lights, and increased aircraft engine noise.
