LAX Rules & Regulation Revision
Effective February 1, 2021
New amendments to the LAX Rules and Regulations and the LAX SAFE program will take effect on February 1, 2021. The complete documents may be viewed by clicking on the links below. These revised documents will also be posted on the LAWA website at www.lawa.org/rules and www.lawa.org/SAFE on February 1. Some principle changes are detailed below.
11.2.5.a. - All Vehicle/GSE operators must conduct a physical inspection of their vehicle/GSE prior to use anytime that the vehicle/GSE has not been in their control.
 
11.2.3.h. - Rotating/flashing beacons must be amber in color. The use of any other color requires approval by Airport Operations.
11.1.2.a.2. - 10 mph on Service Road K, L & M.
 
11.3.2.g. - RAD applicants shall be trained to operate on Ramp/Apron areas and all Vehicle Service Roads.
4.5.21. - Wing walker must protect each wing whenever an aircraft is being towed/taxied-into a gate.
 
4.6.12. - Installed Ground Power Units (GPU) shall be utilized whenever practicable.
9.1.3.Fueling operations shall be discontinued when lightning has been detected within 5 miles of the airport and shall not resume until at least 15 minutes has passed since the last lightning strike within 5 miles.
