Women's History month is upon us again, and we honor professional architectural, engineering, landscape architecture women making living history. This month we introduce you to
"Bridges to Prosperity", a non-profit social enterprise. Bridges to Prosperity partners with national and regional governments to develop their rural transportation networks and connect their isolated citizens to the resources they need the most. The mission of Bridges to Prosperity is: "Envisions a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists. Our programs provide access to healthcare, education and markets by teaching communities how to build footbridges over impassable rivers, in partnership with organizations and professionals. We prove the value of our work through a commitment to the community and its bridge that lasts long after the opening celebration."

We recognize Avery Bang, PE, President and CEO of Bridges to Prosperity. Avery grew up in Iowa, the daughter of a Civil Engineer. She studied engineering at the University of Iowa and abroad in Fiji. While at U of I, Avery contacted Ken Frantz, founder of Bridges to Prosperity and she launched the Business to Prosperity University Program. She earned her Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has garnered an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Clarkson University. Her most recent accomplishment in 2017 was to achieve an MBA from Oxford University in the U.K. Additional national recognition includes Engineering News Record (ENR) Top 25 Newsmaker, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Top 10 New Faces Under 30 in 2011.
Bridges to Prosperity has influenced and provided major changes in women's lives around the world. It continues to improve the living history for women and families.
