Warm Winter Greetings to you all!
I don’t know how many of you look at the news and go, “What the quack is happening on planet Earth!?” but I have said that at least once a day! One of the things that annoys me the most is how the corporations have been inundating us with, “Buy Buy Buy…Buy it now before someone else does (….and you will be sorry …your kids will hate you forever!) What a crock of pooh-pooh this is! (….and if it is true, you totally failed as a parent!)
Well, I have a solution to end some of this insanity and it is my “free gift” to all of you! It is a movie that I came across a couple of years ago and bought a dozen of them to give to my family and friends for their “holiday gift” from me. It is the hilariously serious documentary entitled, “What Would Jesus Buy” from Reverend Billy and
The Church of Stop Shopping! I was hoping that it would inspire them to take a step back and maybe even be a bit vigilant in promoting this like I was!
Now this inspiring documentary movie is free on YouTube! Soooo…..Heeeere you go, a gift from the heart and from the funny bone …from me & Hal to you!

Gosh, there is some good news here….maybe there are people who have seen this movie and are standing up to the consumption monster and saying, “You don’t own me, I’m not Buying it!” (Pun totally intended there.)
The NY Times said, “
Sales, both in stores and online, from Thanksgiving through the weekend were estimated to have dropped 11 percent, to $50.9 billion, from $57.4 billion last year, according to preliminary survey results released Sunday by the National Retail Federation. Sales fell despite many stores’ opening earlier than ever on Thanksgiving Day.
Executives at the retail federation, which had predicted strong growth in sales this holiday season, appeared at a loss to fully explain the drop-off.”
Pretty Cool Eah??? Now, just for the record, I’m not against holiday gift giving, (even though as a Witch, I celebrate the Solstice, not Santa ;o) ….I think it can be a good thing if it is done with thought and projection of how it will affect the future of the recipient. It is all about conscious conduct and not letting people and things tell us what to do and how to operate.
