7th Annual 9/11
Motorcycle Ride
in New York City
We're proud that four of our motorcycles were on display at the 7th Annual 9/11 Motorcycle Ride at the Javits Center in New York City. We'd like to thank the New York State Governor's Office and Tony Sclafani for the photos.
FEATURED BIKE
Indian Scout Trike

2016 Indian Scout Reverse Trike with a Q-Tec front end. Custom pinstriping, leather trim and a speedometer with a custom wooden bezel are just a few of the details that make this ride even more unique!  It also has an 1133 cc engine that puts out 100hp!

Volunteer Spotlight!
Meet Tom Svack!

Tom started his love of motorcycles as a sidecar passenger in 1947. Throughout his lifetime, he has ridden an impressive number of bikes both on the street and as an Enduro racer and a Scrambler. He won the Northeast States Championship in 1956, 1958, 1959 and 1960.  Bikes he has owned include a 500 Triumph, Class A 1950 Harley-Davidson WLA, a 1969 TR6 650 and a 1969 Honda. Tom currently owns a 1975 Yamaha Enduro.

By volunteering at the museum, Tom gets to “hang out” with the old bikes he loves and rode throughout his racing career. Tom also worked at the Yonkers Harley-Davidson Dealership in the 1950’s. He has donated his trophies and numerous photos of his races to the museum archives.

New Addition!

1910 Edison-Puton Monowheel

Edison-Puton Monowheel

This Edison-Puton Monowheel was originally built around 1910.  The most unique characteristic of this and many other monowheels built at that time was that the driver sat within the wheel!  By shifting weight and pushing down on the handle bars, the driver steers the wheel.  This monowheel also came with steel brake shoes to help the driver slow down and maintain control.  We have a link to a clip from the German "Rudi Carrol Show" from the seventies where then owner Toni Wallner demonstrates what the Monowheel can do compared to two modern motorcycles of the time!
