WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARE EXPECTING
So … you are a new delegate! There is truly no way to describe the excitement of being surrounded by 8,000 fellow educators in a large convention hall when music is playing, people are dancing, and confetti is being shot out of canons, but the 2017 Representative Assembly is sure to please as always. There are so many exciting things to do, there really are too many to list, but here are some highlights.
1st … The Website
You have full access to everything happening at ra.nea.org.If you want to go green, every download you need will be on this site. There is also the latest agenda information, daily editions of the RA today and other RA business. What is the RA Today you ask? It is the daily magazine produced June 30-July 6 to let you know what New Business Items will be discussed, policy changes, and amendments to Standing Rules, Constitution and Bylaws, and Resolutions.
2nd … The APP
At the apple store or on googleplay, you are able to download the app for the NEA RA. Just search that term and the RA will be in the palm of your hand.
3rd … New Delegate Welcome
Saturday, July 1 from 1:30-3:00 in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center rear of Hall C all new delegate are invited to come and meet with the NEA Officers and Executive Committee.
4th … Community Service Opportunities
Every year, delegates can participate in community service opportunities.
You will be sent an email on June 14, 2017 with details of many service opportunities.
5th … Vendor Fair
Be sure to stop by the convention center June 30 and July 1 to visit vendors, get some free goodies, and have some fun!
