The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) operates the U.S. Department of Education's technical assistance and information center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE is based at The SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NCHE hosts this Homeless Education Mailing List to share information and resources with educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders about meeting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. The ideas on this listserv do not necessarily reflect the views of NCHE, The SERVE Center, UNCG, or the U.S. Department of Education. ALL LOBBYING ACTIVITIES ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

NCHE Welcomes New Team Member,

Tisha Blythe

Good Afternoon,

Please join NCHE in welcoming new Program Specialist, Yatisha (Tisha) Blythe. Tisha (pronounced Teesha) comes to NCHE from the Guilford County (NC) Schools where she spent over 15 years as a school counselor, homeless education liaison, foster care point of contact, highly mobile coordinator, and district crisis team leader. She also served on the Guilford County CoC (Continuum of Care) Board.

Tisha will be based at NCHE’s office at the SERVE Center at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Her focus will be providing technical assistance by responding to helpline requests, participating on webinars, giving presentations, and creating publications.

Tisha earned a B.A. in high school education from Meredith College and an M.S in human services from Capella University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University and is writing her thesis on agency service provision for homeless trafficked youth.
