Dear colleagues:
NCHE invites you to join us for the webinar: How McKinney-Vento/EHCY Programs Can Help Increase Access and Success for HCY in Workforce Programs
Workforce programs are a pathway for youth and young adults to connect with employment opportunities that can support making sustainable exits from homelessness. Based on recent data from the U.S. Department of Education, public schools identified roughly 1.1 million students experiencing homelessness in the 2020-21 school year. States and school district have the opportunity to collaborate with partners to remove barriers so students experiencing homelessness can access career and technical education programs.
Join NCHE and the National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC) on September 19, 2023 @ 12 pm PT/1 pm MT/2 pm CT/3 pm ET for a 1-hour webinar where participants will learn more about federal workforce programs that include Job Corps, YouthBuild, and the Workforce Opportunity Innovation Act (WIOA). We will share insights on why access to workforce programs supports postsecondary education and employment opportunities for in-school and out-of-school youth and young adults. We will be joined by panelists representing each of the federal workforce programs who will share how their programs are collaborating with educators and how educators can locate and partner with workforce programs in their community.
