The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) operates the U.S. Department of Education's technical assistance and information center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE is based at The SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NCHE hosts this Homeless Education Mailing List to share information and resources with educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders about meeting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. NCHE invites you to join us for the webinar:Serving Students with Disabilities Who Are Experiencing Homelessness: McKinney-Vento and IDEA Collaboration

 

Please join NCHE and presenters from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), Jennifer Miley and Heather Olson as well as McKinney-Vento State Coordinator from Virginia, Pat Popp on Monday, September 18, 2023 @ 2:00 p.m. ET for a 1-hour webinar where presenters will provide an overview of the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and facilitate an in-depth discussion on the intersection, coordination and implementation of the McKinney-Vento Act and Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA).
