Dear colleagues:
NCHE is pleased to release a new training resource:
Local Liaison Authority to Determine HUD Homeless Assistance Eligibility.
This training video explores the authority given to local liaisons who have received training on the different definitions of
homeless used by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to determine HUD homeless assistance eligibility for students experiencing homelessness and their immediate family. The video also may be useful for people seeking to gain a greater understanding of the similarities and differences between the ED and HUD definitions. Participants who successfully complete the training and a quiz on key concepts will receive a certificate of proficiency.
In addition to the above, NCHE has also made four of its recurring webinars available in a streamlined training video format:
- Determining McKinney-Vento Eligibility
- Students Experiencing Homelessness: Transitioning to Higher Education
- Supporting the Education of Unaccompanied Homeless Students
- Understanding Doubled-Up
NCHE will continue to offer recurring live webinars, that provide a more interactive experience, including Q&A, scenarios, polls, etc. But, these new training videos are a great option for people seeking a streamlined training option for general proficiency on a particular topic.
