Dear colleagues:
The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) has released a new brief entitled
Homelessness in America: Focus on Youth, available at
https://www.usich.gov/tools-for-action/homelessness-in-america-focus-on-youth/.
In its
Homelessness in America series, USICH summarizes the most relevant data, including U.S. Department of Education data, and research regarding different subpopulations experiencing homelessness to help inform the work that must be done across the federal government, states, and local communities, to end
homelessness.
In this
Focus on Unaccompanied Youth brief, USICH reviews data and information that addresses the following questions:
- What is the scale of youth homelessness?
- What do we know about unaccompanied youth who experience homelessness?
- What do we know about patterns of homelessness among unaccompanied youth?
- What do we know about youths’ risks for experiencing homelessness?
- What are the most significant gaps in available data and our current understanding of unaccompanied youth who experience homelessness?
This series also includes a brief entitled
Homelessness in America: Focus on Families with Children, available at
https://www.usich.gov/tools-for-action/homelessness-in-america-focus-on-families-with-children/.
Best regards,
Christina Dukes, Federal Liaison
