The U.S. Department of Education is hosting a webinar series to address hot topics that are on the top of educator's minds. After sharing federal updates, the series features lessons learned and best practices from faculty, staff, schools, districts, institutions of higher education, early childhood education providers, and other places of educational instruction. It also shares a variety of useful resources.   On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Safe and Supportive Schools and the Office of English Language Acquisition, the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE) invites you to join the next Lessons from the Field webinar, Supporting the Social and Emotional Learning Needs of Afghan and Other Newcomer Students.

Please join us for valuable information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Education on strategies to assist Afghan and other newcomer students to American schools. As part of the Operation Allies Welcome, these federal agencies recognize the immediate and urgent need to provide high-quality, culturally responsive approaches to support the social and emotional needs of Afghan students into their new learning environments. The information presented will also be relevant to other newcomer student populations. A panel discussion with practitioners from the field directly engaged with supporting newcomers will follow.
