Greetings, colleagues:
Please see the announcement below:
November is National Runaway Prevention Month.
The Runaway and Homeless Youth Training, Technical Assistance, and Capacity Building Center (RHYTTAC) is partnering with the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) to elevate and build awareness of National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM) this November.
SHINE A LIGHT!
NRPM is a public awareness campaign designed to “shine a light” on the experiences of youth in runaway and homeless situations that too often remain invisible. Through this public awareness campaign, we aim to spotlight the resources available to support youth in crisis throughout the nation. Throughout November, individuals, organizations, and communities across the nation are encouraged to work together to prevent youth homelessness.
NRPM is spearheaded by the National Runaway Safeline (NRS), with the support of the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB). NRS operates the federally funded National Communication System for Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, to ensure that youth in crisis and those experiencing homelessness can reach out for assistance when needed.
RHYTTAC is proud to partner and coordinate with NRS during NRPM and throughout the year to connect RHY Grantees and other youth-serving organizations to vital resources. RHYTTAC provides training and technical assistance on effective practices for organizations working to prevent and end youth homelessness, which includes sharing resources and trends gathered by NRS on youth experiencing homelessness and runaway situations.
THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT WAYS GET INVOLVED!
