The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) operates the U.S. Department of Education's technical assistance and information center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE is based at The SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NCHE hosts this Homeless Education Mailing List to share information and resources with educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders about meeting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) is pleased to announce its latest resource "Housing and School Partnership on the Point-in-Time Count".  This updated document includes planning and awareness-building steps that schools and districts can take when working with their local Continuum of Care (CoC).

Also, the resource outlines key statutory guidelines under the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  

We hope you find this quick reference guide to be useful to your work in support of homeless children and youth.
