Hi all. Several people have expressed challenges with the original link posted, so I wanted to follow up with another option.
You can download the tip sheet from NCHE's website at
https://nche.ed.gov/data-collection/ (scroll down and look along the right) or directly access the Word document file at the link below (
https://nche.ed.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/PIT-Count-Fact-Sheet-FINAL.docx), which should download the file rather than opening it up in your web browser.
Hope this is helpful!

Dear colleagues:
As the date for local Point-in-Time (PIT) counts nears, NCHE wants to remind its listserv members about its updated
Housing and School Partnership on the Point-in-Time Count tip sheet, available at
http://nche.ed.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/PIT-Count-Fact-Sheet-FINAL.docx. This tip sheet
- outlines key provisions under the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) that set the guidelines for school and district involvement in HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Point-in-Time (PIT) counts and
- includes planning and awareness-building steps that schools and districts can take when working with their local Continuum of Care (CoC) to help plan and implement the local PIT count.
When working together, NCHE encourages CoCs and schools/districts to support each other's system goals in a way that benefits both partner agencies and the young people and families they serve. We hope you find this 2-page quick reference guide to be useful to you in your work.
Best regards,
Christina Dukes, Federal Liaison
