Dear colleagues:
We have some data related updates to share with you today.
First, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) has released data for all school districts that reported homeless students in the U.S during School Year 2016-17. To ensure student confidentiality, privacy protections have been applied, so the data file contains suppressed data for some school districts. However, the files may be beneficial to researchers or others looking for information at the school district level, such as organizations or agencies serving homeless children and youth. You can download the data file and the related documentation at
https://www2.ed.gov/about/inits/ed/edfacts/data-files/school-status-data.html.
Second, Consolidated State Performance Report (CSPR) data for School Year 2016-17 were just released on ED Data Express. You can search for your state, a group of states, or the entire U.S. by going to
https://eddataexpress.ed.gov/state-tables-main.cfm.
(Please note that because both these data sources are based on school district level data, students who attended more than one school district will be included more than once. NCHE will release a report later this fall that examines unduplicated counts of students.)
Have a good day,
Christina Endres |
