Good afternoon, colleagues:
Recently, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) highlighted the collaboration between the Clark County School District (CCSD) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in support of unaccompanied homeless youth transitioning to higher education. UNLV, in partnership with CCSD and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, established the UNLV HOPE Scholars Program in 2016. The HOPE Scholars Program provides an array of supportive services to unaccompanied homeless youth transitioning to UNLV, including housing, academic, and financial assistance.
Visit https://www.usich.gov/resources/uploads/asset_library/UNLV_CCSD_Hope_Scholars_profile.pdf to learn more about this promising partnership, including key strategies and lessons learned.
Best regards,
Christina Dukes, Federal Liaison
