The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) operates the U.S. Department of Education's technical assistance and information center for the federal Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) Program. NCHE is based at The SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NCHE hosts this Homeless Education Mailing List to share information and resources with educators, service providers, and other interested stakeholders about meeting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM)

Dear colleagues:

November is National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM). Spearheaded each year by the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) and National Network for Youth (NN4Y), NRPM aims to raise awareness of our nation's runaway and homeless youth crisis and the issues that these young people face, and to educate the public about solutions and the role they can play in ending youth homelessness.

As a national NRPM partner, NCHE encourages you to learn more, including simple ways you can support NRPM goals. Learn more and access valuable resources, including the NRPM 2017 Toolkit, at https://www.1800runaway.org/runaway-prevention-month/.

By supporting NRPM, you are showing America’s runaway and homeless youth that they are not invisible and they are not alone.
