Tuesday, May 19th community members will have the opportunity to vote on the proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The vote will take place at the Newark High School (625 Perison Avenue) from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Voters must be residents of the Newark Central School District and 18 years of age or older.
The library will hold a budget hearing Thursday, May 14th from 6:00–6:30 PM to allow voters to learn more about the proposed budget and ask questions. |

The term of one currently elected member of the Newark Public Library's Board of Trustees expires on June 30, 2026. Keeley Kuperus currently holds this position.
If interested in serving as an elected Library Board Trustee, the position is for a five-year term starting July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2031. Prospective Library Trustees packets are available at the Newark Public Library, 121 High Street, Newark, NY.
Candidates must complete the Petition Form and return it to be filed with the Clerk of Newark Central School District at the District Office at 100 Miller Street, Newark, NY, by Monday, April 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM. The petition needs at least 25 signatures from district voters and must state the candidate's name and residence.
