Spiritual Axiom and Sponsorship

I’m so grateful I have a spiritual tool box I can use when needed.  Our literature states “it is a spiritual axiom that every time we are disturbed, no matter what the cause, there is something wrong with us”.  That line in our 12&12 has always punched my ego in the face even when it’s justifiable anger causing the disturbance.  I certainly know when my spiritual axiom has been disturbed.  Even with the Step 10, I’m more grateful that I have a sponsor that I can call because he is part of my process of helping me look inward to quiet that disturbance.  My defense against the first drink has to go through all the meetings that I attend on a regular basis, the loving God of my understanding, my sponsor, my BFF, my liter-mates, my home group and service. That has kept me in a life that is happy, joyous, and free.  I am a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous and I love being sober!
