Get involved—Stay Informed!

If you’re reading this article I’m probably preaching to the choir.  How many assemblies have you attended and the discussion on how to make general service attractive to others comes up?  I can’t speak for everyone but I got bit by the service bug when I was volun-told to be the group’s GSR.  That has turned out to be my Disneyland of the service arena.  Staying involved in our service structure has kept me informed of the many issues our fellowships have dealt with.  Aren’t we tired of hearing 10% of us do 90% of the work?  In our area we still have people grumbling over the change of the AA preamble and the publication of the Plain Language Big Book.  Now ask yourself, "Do those two items  mentioned make Alcoholics Anonymous more inclusive or exclusive?  I can’t thank our trusted servants enough for all the work they do listening to our voices to help us stick to our primary purpose of carrying our message of hope to the suffering alcoholic.
