The first shipment of the new harvest of Bulgarian Rose was delivered to our office this morning.
As is our tradition, everyone gathers around to take in an early whiff as the gleaming new container is first opened. This is the true essential oil of Bulgarian
Rosa damascena, traditionally referred to as “Rose Otto.”

The Site: Valley of the Roses
This
Rosa damascena oil is cultivated in the famous Bulgarian Valley of the Roses. It is the brand new 2021 harvest distilled just in the last few weeks.
The area around Kazanlak, known as the Valley of the Roses, has been world-famous for its Rose growing industry which has produced Rose Otto for centuries. Half of the world's Rose oil (1.5 - 2 tonnes) is produced in Bulgaria.

Therapeutic Properties
Rose oil is, of course, most desired for its sublime fragrance. We must not forget it is therapeutically most valuable as an astringent and haemostatic skin tonic. The unrivaled complexity of its composition gives Rose special qualities on the ethereal plane. It counteracts the loss of libido and is helpful with lost love and painful separations. It is also credited with helping to quell hatred, aggression and tendencies for violence.

#35 Rose Essential Oil
Rose oil contains a fair amount of natural waxes called stearoptene, which carry over in distillation along with the commonly known odorants such as citronellol, geraniol, nerol, linalool, phenyl ethyl alcohol and farnesol. Because of its waxy components, true Rose oil tends to solidify at lower temperatures. Mildly warming the bottle will return the oil to a liquid.
