Sandalwood Indonesia: Embracing Fragrance
Sandalwood
(Santalum album) is probably the most sought-after Asian wood fragrance globally. There are over ten different species of Sandalwood scattered across Southeast Asia. Sandalwood has become so rare that there is a true spot market for it and provenances from one region may disappear tomorrow. The sustainably harvested Indonesian Sandalwood we offer is typically freshly distilled from trees cultivated as in the image below.

The Site: Central Java
Sandalwood oils from India are exquisitely rare. There is always debate among experts in the field regarding if it is possible to ascertain the authenticity of Indian Sandalwood oils. Unsurprisingly, moneyed interests have supported the cultivation of different species of Sandalwood in their respective locales such as Santalum spicatum in Australia, Santalum austrocaledonicum in New Caledonia and Santalum paniculatum in Hawaii. Pictured on the left is the exact source of our

Therapeutic Properties
Sandalwood oil, whether it is Indian or Sri Lankan Santalum album or any of the other varieties of South East Asian origin, is mostly collected by its aficionados for its beautiful, heartwarming fragrance. However the oil also has important therapeutic properties. First and foremost it has a very beneficial affinity to the venous system as a lymph tonic, with decongestant qualities for the veins, lymph ducts and more generally for blockages. It is also a decongestant for the prostate and pelvic areas. It offers support for circulatory weakness and countering tobacco addiction.
