  Spring Conference, April 21 & 22, 2017 


The OregonAEYC 2017 Spring Conference will be held at Lane Community College in Eugene. 

Approaching deadline: Register by April 10th to qualify for the early bird discount.

             Infant & Toddler Symposium with Keynote, Paige Light,                    Oregon Infant Mental Health Association

Book signing with renowned author and Keynote speaker Katie Kissinger!


Join us Friday evening from 4:30-6pm for a special opportunity to meet with local author and educator Katie Kissinger and celebrate the release of her new book  Anti Bias Education in the Early Childhood Classroom.  

Katie Kissinger uses her personal experience as a longtime educator to highlight both the challenges and the potential for transformative learning in the anti-bias classroom, and gives other teachers the tools they need to create classrooms that welcome all students and families. 

Both  Anti Bias Education in the Early Childhood Classroom as well as a special 20th anniversary edition of  All the Colors We Are will be available at the signing event. 

Saturday: We are excited to have local author and advocate Katie Kissinger as our Saturday Keynote speaker. Many Set One and Two sessions.

We will be offering workshops both days in Spanish.

Mind in the Making


There are still spaces available for our upcoming Set Three training in Human Growth & Development. The April 8th session may change depending on number of registrants. Click here to register or email Sara directly at sara@oregonaeyc.org for more information.  

This training series analyzes the Seven Essential Life Skills outlined in Ellen Galinsky's book “Mind in the Making.” This series of 8 modules shares the most recent research findings on the skills that support children's success in school and life.

You must commit to attending all 3 sessions. Set Three in Human Growth & Development; 18 Hours; All ages. Saturday class sessions 9:00-4:00; April 8th, May 6th & June 3rd.

We are able to offer $100 OCCD Cohort scholarships toward the cost. If you do not already have a scholarship eligibility award letter for  2016-2017, you need to apply to OCDC for eligibility for 2016-2017 year.   Scholarship Application

 

Governing Council Elections

Voting is now open! If you have not done so already, click here to cast your vote for the current Governing Council Elections.  Voting ends April 17th so be sure to get your vote in before the deadline.

Election results will be announced at our Annual Meeting April 22nd at lunch during our Spring Conference in Eugene.

Western States Leadership Network












Registration for the Western States Leadership Network is now open. Join Early Learning professionals from our neighboring states for a rejuvenating and invigorating weekend of collaboration and network building.  Visit the WSLN Facebook event page for registration and event details.

When: Wednesday, July 12, 2pm through Saturday, July 15, 12:00 noon

Investment: $375 (includes most meals & lodging; $50 extra for private room; excursions and R&R activities extra)

Week of the Young Child



The Week of the Young Child is just around the corner and we would love to help share the wonderful activities you are doing to celebrate. The WOYC begins April 22-30, 2017.   From NAEYC More ideas?

           Music Monday: Sing, Dance, Celebrate and Learn
           Tasty Tuesday: Eating Healthy and Fitness at Home and School
           Work Together Wednesday: Work Together, Build Together,    
              Learn Together
           Artsy Thursday: Think, Problem Solve, Create
           Family Friday: Sharing Family Stories

Please send in any documentation with required permission/entry form  to Adriana so that we may share your great ideas to our OregonAEYC Facebook page  and the NAEYC website. Each submission will enter you into our raffle. Raffle prizes include a book from our in house bookstore; One free admission to either our Spring or Fall conference; One year OAEYC/NAEYC membership; etc.  Six prizes will be awarded. Winners will be contacted the first week in May.
