Save the Date for our Annual General Meeting

After several postponements our AGM is confirmed for Thursday 10th September at 6.30pm at Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club. Doors open at 5.30pm.
There will be complimentary nibbles and a welcome drink upon arrival.

Our special guest speaker will be Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams.
It would be useful to know numbers, so please let us know whether or not you’re able to come. Also you can send in your questions and suggestions for the Mayor in advance to info@portmandurah.com.au
Following the meeting, you are invited to eat in the restaurant at your own cost. Please book direct with MOFSC. There is also a licensed bar.
Please consider nominating to the committee. All being well next year's AGM will be held at the usual time of early March, so the commitment this year is only six months.
Thank you to the current committee members who have served several months longer than expected this year! Also, thank you to all the members for their patience.
We will be delivering a newsletter to every household in Port Mandurah next week and need volunteers to step up to help. Please email us if you’re willing to deliver newsletters to a street or two near you.
If you have yet to obtain your copy of Port Mandurah – Thirty Years
Making a Community
, these books will be available at the AGM.
One free copy per household. Extra copies are $20 each.
We Need New Committee Members

Several new committee members are needed from September, but for only six months! As it’s a shorter term than normal it’s the ideal opportunity for anyone who’s not sure about a long-term commitment.
No skills needed – just a willingness to participate in meetings every 6 weeks and an interest in one or more of the following: waterways issues, social events, administration, communications, finance, Christmas activities.
If you’re not ready to take on a specific role you can elect to be an
Ordinary Committee Member.

If you’d like to find out more, please email Linda the secretary on info@portmandurah.com.au
You are most welcome to attend our next committee meeting on Thursday
6th August at 4.00pm for a taster. Details from Linda.

Thank you to our sponsors
We are very grateful to the sponsors (right) who supported us in 2019/2020.
The new sponsorship year is now underway and we invite all our sponsors to renew their commitment to PMRA.
We understand that it has been a difficult year for many but we believe that our sponsorship package represents very good value for money, especially as we only admit one sponsor in each category, e.g. real estate.
If you or anyone you know would like to become a PMRA sponsor, please email us to find out if that sponsorship category is still available.

Restoring Mussels to our Waterways
Canal residents are invited to join a unique opportunity to help re-establish beneficial mussel beds in the Peel-Harvey Estuary.
The Nature Conservancy will supply residents willing to grow their own mussel gardens with all the necessary equipment including specially designed mussel baskets filled with juvenile mussels. The baskets will then be suspended in the water under their private jetties for about a year.
There is a Community Information Forum on Monday 3rd August from 6pm - 7:30pm at the

Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club.

(new venue). RSVP by 2nd August to alex.hams@TNC.org or call 0421 456 708.

Containers for Change
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Port Mandurah resident Mick Georgeff invited his friends to put their bottles, cartons and cans in the bin outside his home at 4 Fistina Ramble in support of the new container deposit scheme being introduced later this year.
He is now opening up this opportunity to all Port Mandurah residents who would like to see Peel Thunder benefit from their containers.
Click here for more information about the scheme and also about the community information session on 10th August.
Please deposit your eligible containers during reasonable hours so as not to disturb Mick's neighbours.
