AGM on TUESDAY
A reminder to all residents of Port Mandurah that we are holding our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 21st January at 6pm for 6.30 at E2C, Old Coast Plaza, Halls Head (junction of Mary Street and Old Coast Road). Light refreshments will be served. We expect to be able to bring you some interesting news on the evening. Without giving too much away, it's something about dophins and something else about jetties!

You are entitled to vote if you are a Port Mandurah Specified Area Ratepayer. If you live in Port Mandurah but are not a SAR payer, you may apply to become an Affiliate Member by emailing the committee on info@portmandurah.com.au

Friends of Samphire Cove
Please note there will be no meeting on 26th January.
Meetings will resume on the last Sunday of every month thereafter. On the morning of 23rd February the friends invite you to come along and help paint the bird hides.
The Cove Coordinator Barry Small advises
that  meetings are being held with representatives from the disabled community to determine access requirements to the first bird hide, and there has also been an official request for the City of Mandurah to increase security surveillance.
From December 2013: Closed Waters to Motorised Vessels apply to the waters at Samphire Cove, Creery Wetlands and Len Howard Conservation Park (where the Osprey Pole Nest is in the northern section - where the Bird Hide is in the southern section).

NEWS ABOUT SUTTON FARM
Did you see in the Mandurah Mail that “local businessman Paul Lance bought Sutton Farm early last month with the plans to lease it out as a restaurant, wine bar or coffee house, turn the barn into an art studio and add 8-10 finger jetties in the canal adjacent. For more information call Mr Lance on 0417 092 991.” We will keep you updated of any news.

Excerpts from eWatch | The Mandurah Police Newsletter
“I am very pleased to report that on year-to-date figures we are seeing a reduction in overall reported crime when compared to the same time last year. There has been an 11% decrease in reported crime including a 23.3% reduction in burglaries, a 22% reduction in stealing of cars and a 16% reduction in stealing offences. These figures are a marked improvement on where we were this time last year and are testament to the hard work of your local police officers, including those officers involved in Operation Esteem over the last 4 months.”
