Your New Committee
Our AGM was held on 24th March and was attended by 39 members. Following the business part of the meeting we listened to an enlightening talk about the waterways issues in and around Port Mandurah by Neil Carroll, the Marina and Waterways Manager for the City of Mandurah.
Your new committee is:
Brennan Rose (President), Kerrie Andrews,
Gary Brown, Crawford Flaherty, Raymond Hind, Una Hird, Dianne O’Driscoll, Martin Robinson, Linda Thorpe, Billy Treby, Wave Treby and
Dianne Truss.
Our thanks go to the outgoing committee members for all that they have done for the Association. We are grateful that most of them are willing to continue “hands on” and/or as advisors. Please email info@portmandurah.com.au if you would like a copy of the Annual Report.

Holiday Rentals
At the Council Meeting of 24th March 2015 it was agreed that Council:
1. Requests that officers present to Council a report to initiate a Local Law and any relevant amendment to Town Planning Scheme No 3 to require properties used commercially for holiday homes to obtain development approval:
a) with registrations being subsequently renewed on an annual basis under the local law;
b) adequate car parking to be provided on site;
c) a manager to be contactable at all times; and
d) annual registrations to be subject to compliance with previous approvals.
2. In the interim, requests that officers:
a) write to Holiday Home operators in Mandurah, advising them of the standard of behaviour that is expected;
b) provide advice to members of the public in relation to the procedure for addressing complaints in relation to noise and parking; and
c) provide contact details in relation to the reporting of anti-social behaviour issues.
3. Requests that officers gather additional information on the impacts of holiday homes, with particular focus over Easter 2015.
4. Requests a further report be provided to Council by June 2015, detailing officers’ observations over the Easter holiday period and the number of complaints received relating to holiday homes within the City.
5. Endorses the wider community having the ability to comment via a ‘Have Your Say Mandurah’ campaign, regarding the value and impacts of holiday homes.
6. Seeks comment from the Tourism industry on the value and impact of holiday homes on tourism in Mandurah.
