Pelaqita Persian Cats and Persian Kittens
July 4, 2017
Quite a few things went on in the month of June. JR had two kittens on June 12, 2017, and recent pictures have been posted to JR's FB album.
As I indicated in last month's newsletter, I was finally able to return to showing and did so in a big way! My fellow partner in crime, Jackie, her daughter, and I went to Matamoras, Pennsylvania for the North Atlantic Regional cat show. Both Daisy and Faith did quite well for their first show. Click here to see pictures from the show.
John and Susan MacArthur
The Great Lakes Region cat show and awards banquet in Akron, Ohio on June 24 & 25, 2017. I was able to convince my husband to come with me for the entire weekend!! Kudos to John for getting all dressed up in his monkey suit and attending the awards banquet with me on Saturday night. Here is a link to pictures that were taken at the cat show. CFA Judge John Colilla, Pam Rutan, and Susan MacArthur with Daisy
While attending the cat show in Akron with Daisy and Faith, I made a mistake. Judge John Colilla's ring called their kitten final and I wiped Faith's eyes and fluffed her coat out and brought her up to the ring and went to my seat. A few minutes later as the Judge was going to hang a ribbon on Faith's cage, he got a confused look on his face, looked at the cream & white Persian next to her, then went to the table to check his book. He was about to say something when I realized that it was not Faith that he had called up for the final, but Daisy. Hugely embarrassed. Mr. Colilla had to give me a bit of grief as I quickly grabbed Faith out of the cage and exchanged her with Daisy. As you can see by the picture, we all got a big laugh out of it.
Have a safe 4th of July!

Did You Know?
There are two species of wild cats in Africa and Europe that still hunt - they both resemble domestic tabbies.

All kittens are born with blue eyes (just like with human babies), and then they often change color as the kittens grow.

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. ~ Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio
Litter Box
As most of you know, I sold Emma to a great couple that is new to cats, but not to showing and breeding animals. Edd and Janice Smith bring a wealth of knowledge to the cat show arena, especially as Janice is a long time vet tech.

Emma has had four kittens, which I will be assisting her new owner to place into pet homes. These kittens will be offered on my website, but will be placed into a pet home with Emma's new owner's health guarantee. Please visit our website and if you are interested in one of Emma's kittens, please fill out the Application on my website and I will forward to Edd and Janice Smith.

JR had two kittens; a male and a female and both kittens are spoken for already! :-)

If you are interested in being considered for one of our Persian kittens, please visit our website and review the pages under the Placement tab.
