Banquet picture
The weekend of June 25 & 26th, we went to Akron, Ohio for the Great Lakes Region cat show and banquet. The picture on the left from left to right is Jackie Bates, myself, and my husband, John. My husband drove up to Akron just for the awards banquet and looked so very handsome in his tuxedo!

Bishop received an award for Best Color in his color class for the show year 2015-2016!

susan and her friend Jackie Bates
Here are a few pictures of me and some of my cat show friends. The first picture (on the right) is of myself and my bestie, Jackie Bates. Jackie now owns Funfetti's kitten, Eden. Eden made two kitten finals on Sunday, June 27th and received 7th Best Kitten and 10th Best Kitten. There were 77 kittens entered in the show which means Eden won over 70 other kittens!!! Quite an achievement for her first cat show (for both Jackie and Eden). I could not be prouder of the both of them.

Nan Schindler and Susan
This picture is of my friend and fellow cat show enthusiast, Nan Schindler. Nan has graciously agreed to let me breed MayMay to one of her male cats when the time comes. I cannot wait to see what lovely babies this breeding produces. I do want to Grand Champion MayMay before I breed her though, so it may be some time before this breeding happens. (By the way, I am not this tall. I was wearing five-inch heels!!). lol

Susan and Sabrina Grisier
Last but not least, is a picture of myself and Sabrina Grisier. Sabrina is also another friend made possible through showing cats. Sabrina is one of the kindest, compassionate women I have ever met. She is absolutely stunning in the dress she wore.

I also took this video of CFA Judge Teresa Sweeney judging Eden's kitten class and then of her judging and awarding the 10 top kittens in her Kitten Finals. Check it out.

Posh Pet Beds
I recently came across some cool and functional pet beds. Posh Pet Beds is the brainchild of Donna Waskiewicz. I have ordered five of them because I like them so much.

When My World Seemed to Collapse
Brown Tabby & White Persian cat

GC Cacao Dignity of Pelaqita

Over a year ago, I placed an intact breeding pair of kittens with a woman living in the western part of Illinois. She had said that she had bred and showed Persians cats in the 1970’s and wanted to get back into cats. She was looking for a solid cream kitten.

Did You Know?
Cats born without tails (like Manx) genetically, have a shorter spine and longer rear legs than other breeds of cats.

Cats have been domesticated about half as long as dogs have been.

Cat bites are more likely to become infected than dog bites.

9/11 Survivors - During the recovery process of 9/11 after the World Trade Center collapsed, rescuers made an amazing discovery. In a basement area, among debris and rubble, a cat was curled up in a box of napkins. Upon closer inspection, three kittens were discovered inside the box as well. The remarkable survivors received a clean bill of health and were named: Flag, Hope, Freedom and Amber.

Litter Box

As soon as Diggie has sufficient time to recover and depending on our girls' heat cycles, we hope to be announcing some new litter(s) in the next few months.
