Pelaqita Persians
June 1, 2016
It is finally summer, and we are happy for the nicer weather. Our horses, mini donkeys, and goat, are now running free in the pasture and seem to be enjoying the extra room to roam, plus all the green grass.

All of our kittens are now spoken for, including the kittens just born to Sugar on June 1st. We appreciate our kitten buyers so much for placing their trust in us.

Today is a day with mixed emotions for me. Ralph is going to his forever home. I decided to write his story as he has made such an impact on our lives while with us. Ralph's story appears below.

The other article this month has to do with a new policy that we have decided to implement as it directly impacts our goals as show breeders. It also directly affects the ability of the CFA to do all of the things they do that are so critical to research into feline diseases, community education, and other important programs.

Have a great June everyone!
What's In a Name?
Many owners have a difficult time coming up with a "registered name" for their kitten. It is quite a daunting task if it's the buyer's first pedigreed pet.

What does it all mean?

Why is registering a kitten with the CFA so important to the breeder?

Does it REALLY matter if an owner does not register their kitten?

A Persian Cat Named Ralph Mouth
On May 14, 2015, our Persian cat, Sophia Loren, had her kittens via an emergency C-section. We ended up with four live kittens. There were two red and white males, and we decided to keep the one with more white on him. The other Red Tabby and White kitten went to a show home. Every time you picked Ralph up, or he did not like something, or he liked something, or just for any reason whatsoever, he would "talk" boisterously to you. I started calling him Ralph Mouth and the name stuck.

Did You Know?
Generally the upper limit of a cat's hearing is 65 kHz (kilohertz); for humans' the upper limit is 20 kHz.

When you see a one-eyed cat, spit on your thumb, stamp it in the palm of your hand, and make a wish. The wish will come true - American supersition

Sugar had three kittens on June 1, 2016. She had two females and one male. At this time, they are not available.

We will be breeding a couple of our girls later this month.
